Why families choose martial arts for External PE

External PE should be more than checking a box. At North Texas MMA, students train in a structured environment where they learn discipline, fitness, coordination, and practical self-defense. Classes also help students build confidence, focus, and consistency.

This can be a strong option for students who:

  • Want a serious physical activity outside school
  • Prefer martial arts over traditional PE
  • Need a consistent training schedule
  • Are already committed to Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, or MMA
  • Want fitness with measurable skill development

How to get started

  1. Current NTMMA Members:
If your child is already a member of NTMMA and wants to earn school credit for their Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, and weightlifting training, please contact your child’s school counselor. They will provide the required application, and we can help with the training information needed from our gym.

  2. New to NTMMA?
If your child is not yet a member, visit a class and talk with us about the schedule, program fit, and LISD External PE requirements.
